Father of Hounds

A heartrending family drama, The Dog Father tells the story of Zhao Yang, a selfless father who, after his death, is reincarnated as a dog due to his unyielding attachment to his daughter, Zhao Ting. In this form, he silently guards her, accompanying her through every pivotal moment and hardship as she confronts life's challenges. Through Zhao Yang's quiet efforts, Zhao Ting gradually emerges from the shadows of grief, and even those who once harbored ill intentions are moved by the sincerity between father and daughter. Just as life begins to settle into peace, tragedy strikes again: Zhao Ting is diagnosed with leukemia, while Zhao Yang, now a dog, develops a brain tumor. After witnessing Zhao Ting’s wedding and seeing her fulfill her final wish, Zhao Yang watches as his daughter passes away peacefully under the setting sun.
